Morpheus Space is revolutionizing the space industry by enabling dynamic satellite constellations for the first time using the fusion of advanced electric propulsion with artificial intelligence. At our site in Dresden, Germany, our electric satellite propulsion systems are developed and produced for the global market.

🌟 In this role, you will…

  • ... design electric propulsion systems, their mechanical subsystems, test equipment and tools
  • … perform numerical simulations as thermal modeling of our propulsion system or/and subcomponents
  • … perform numerical simulations of charged particle trajectories in electric fields
  • ... design and procure fixtures and equipment necessary for tests
  • ... design, prepare and perfom breadboard tests of propulsion subsystem
  • ... write technical reports about product designs, test setups and performance tests
  • ... work hands-on for all tests and help improve our facilities continuously
  • ... research materials, technologies and suppliers
  • ... operate vacuum facilities and help to improve them
  • … support to develop internal test standards and procedures
  • … work closely together with other teams of our hardware engineering

Job requirements

🤝 We should get to know each other if you…

  • ... are a B.Sc/M.Sc in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar
  • ... have experience in the design of electric propulsion systems or terrestrial ion beam applications, bonus is having experience with the FEEP (field emission electric propulsion) or liquid metal ion source (LMIS) technology
  • … have experience in numerical simulations
  • ... have hands-on experience in testing electric propulsion systems
  • ... have strong physical understanding for ion dynamics, material science and manufacturability
  • ... have experience with test planning and writing technical reports
  • ... eager to learn new things and develop yourself
  • ... are self-organized with high attention to detail and safety
  • ... have a can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
  • ... enjoy hands-on activities such as cutting, drilling metal, soldering electronics, operating power tools etc.
  • … are fluent in English
